Question

What is SERCLIENT-L and how do I subscribe?

Answer

SERCLIENT-L was originally founded as a means of sharing information about duplicate, erroneous, outdated, or otherwise “tricksy” bibliographic records for serials and other continuing resources in the State University Libraries (SUL) shared bib environment, but it is open to everyone in the SUS or FCS. Participants can suggest changes to the Aleph record and to the OCLC master record as well. Changes may include frank errors, missed title changes, records that should be collapsed, and frequency changes – or any other oddities a publisher may inflict. It is important to know that the bib system numbers in the SUS Aleph database are different than those in the FCS Aleph database.
