Question
What are preservation strategies?
Answer
Digital preservation strategies are the methods by which a long-term digital preservation repository attempts to ensure long-term preservation of archived materials.   Examples of such strategies are bit-level preservation, emulation, replication, and file format normalization and forward migration.  A single repository may implement a number of preservation strategies.  For example, the Florida Digital Archives uses replication, bit-level preservation, and file formation normalization and forward migration as preservation strategies.
